An attractive mouth and a pleasant smile are charming. Unfortunately, during the course of aging, lip volume decreases, a process often accompanied by the development of tiny wrinkles. But younger women also wish they had fuller lips than they naturally have.
Fortunately, since the introduction of hyaluronic acid and body fat transfer, we have at our disposal good methods of filling thin lips. During the operation, we work with the patient to carefully and incrementally reach the desired volume, so there is no danger of unnatural-looking results.
There are various ways of reducing tiny mouth wrinkles. An exaggerated facial expression can be moderated with botulinum, or the wrinkles can be filled directly with hyaluronic acid. A dermabrasion can be very effective, and in our experience, this treatment is milder in terms of healing time required (approximately one week) than laser resurfacing, for instance.
