Neck lift (platysmal bands) in Bamberg (northern Bavaria)

In the course of the natural aging process, the elastic fibers in the face and the neck area become fewer. The skin and musculature of the neck and the structures beneath become slack, and gravity pulls them downward. The process is often speeded by the increase of fatty tissue under the chin.
As long as these changes are not too extensive, a minor liposuction under the chin is sufficient to achieve a more dynamic facial expression. In many cases, it is beneficial to complement this treatment with hyaluronic acid injections on the sides of the chin. The unattractive platysmal bands (slack strips of skin that run from the chin to the cleavage) can often be made unnoticeable by means of injections of small amounts of botulinum. Excess skin under the chin can be removed trough a small incision.
However, for a very pronounced slackness in the chin-neck area and significant jowls, a neck lift in conjunction with a facelift is the most effective treatment. Long-lasting tightening of unattractive platysmal bands to the side of the neck is thus possible.
